Introduction

To bring out different feelings/views/meanings/practices of different identities towards this year’s theme of the pride parade, i.e. “Be Proud Be Yourself” through the use of words.

Articles is a project collaborated by Hong Kong Pride Parade Committee and independent media. Articles will be concurrently published in both Hong Kong Pride Parade official website and independent media website.

Articles welcomes all fellows to join. Please email your articles to join@hkpride.net and do not write more than 1500 words. We recommend you to write about this year’s theme. Please also remember to attach the author’s name and contact.

Accepting Yourself 　Bonnie - a straight lady who cares about "people" rather than their sexualities and whom they sleep with as long as they are having safe sex!

As a heterosexual female, a lot of friends asked me why I joined the Gay Parade last year in view I am not lesbian nor gay. I will just ask back "why not"?

This is a great event to promote self acceptance

This is a fun time for some fun and laughter

This is an opportunity for the general public to know more about the gay community to reduce stigma and misunderstanding

Everyone deserves love and respect. Gay / les / trans are no exception even though they may represent the minority group in the society

And everything begins by accepting and loving yourself and be comfortable with yourself for who you are

Come join us with pride and have some fun!
